‘Janmashtami the festival of Joy, Peace and Love.’

The students and teachers of GreenFields School  celebrated Janmashtami/ Gokulashtami on 23rd August, 2019. Janmashtami, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. Janmaashtami, popularly known as Dahi Handi, is celebrated as an event which involves making a human pyramid and breaking an earthen pot (handi) filled with buttermilk (dahi), which is tied at a convenient height.

The Janmashtami Special Assembly was conducted  in the School premises, which elaborated on how and why we celebrate Janmasthami. A beautiful backdrop was prepared with flowers and other decorations.

Devotional singing was dramatized through a melodious song and dance by the students of class 1 to 5, which was followed by students enacting various acts on Krishna’s life i.e. Vasudev dropping Krishna to Gokul after his birth and Krishna’s Baal Leela portraying his mischievous behavior in his childhood and youth. Students enthralled the audience with their wonderful performance.
